Cheeky Minions Told Off For Marketing Stunt
Two opportunistic street traders who dressed up as characters from the Minions movie to sell their bananas by the roadside saw their unique marketing stunt backfire as they were cautioned by local police.
The incident happened in Zhengzhou, the capital of China’s central Henan Province. The two men had hoped to cash in on the the success of this summer's box office smash hit by selling their goods from the back of a bicycle.
One of the men dressed up as one-eyed minion Carl while the other dressed up as Tim the minion who is known for his eccentric and silly behaviour.
They nearly ended up losing their whole stock however as police failed to see the funny side and cautioned them for their illegal hawking activities. One of the men dressed up as one-eyed minion Carl while the other dressed up as Tim the minion who is known for his eccentric and silly behaviour.
While most illegal street traders prefer to remain inconspicuous these two men stood out a mile in their costumes. This less-than-subtle approach led to the arrival of the local law enforcement agency known as the Chengguan on to the scene.
The men were told under no uncertain terms to leave the area and were warned that if they should return then they would have their goods and bicycle confiscated and face possible arrest. Where’s their sense of humour eh?
